Sustainability
in everything we do

For us, sustainability is not a single certificate — it is a holistic approach that permeates material choices, production, packaging, partners, and product design.

Craftsman making wooden toys

"Every toy begins as a tree in a responsibly managed forest."

Natural materials

Wood is one of nature's most sustainable materials — renewable, biodegradable, and beautiful. The majority of our range is made from solid wood and plywood. Some products use MDF or engineered wood — always from certified sources. A small part of our range uses bio-based materials such as wheat straw as a more sustainable alternative to conventional plastic.

  • Primarily solid wood and plywood
  • Nature-based lacquers and oils
  • MDF used in some products — always certified
  • Bio-based wheat straw as plastic alternative
FSC®

Our FSC® certification (licence code FSC-C216506) guarantees that the wood we use comes from responsibly managed forests. FSC is an independent, international standard for sustainable forestry.

Chemical safety

All paints, lacquers, and surface treatments are thoroughly tested for harmful substances. We use only materials approved for contact with children.

  • Tested for heavy metals (lead, cadmium, chromium)
  • No phthalates or BPA
  • Meets EN 71-3 and ASTM F963
  • Independent lab testing of every product batch
Longevity & durability

The most sustainable toy is the one that lasts. Our products are designed to be passed from child to child — reducing the need for new production and waste.

  • Built for decades of use
  • Timeless design without trend-driven obsolescence
  • Repairable and maintainable
  • Significantly reduces consumption and waste
Responsible packaging

Packaging is part of a product's environmental footprint. We continuously work to minimise packaging, use recycled materials, and avoid unnecessary plastic.

  • Cardboard from recycled or FSC-certified sources
  • Minimal plastic content in packaging
  • Printed with water-based inks
  • Packaging designed to be reused
Climate footprint

We are conscious of our climate footprint and actively work to reduce it — from choice of materials and production methods to transport and packaging.

  • Wood sequesters CO₂ throughout the product's lifetime
  • Optimised transport routes and consolidated shipments
  • Partners with documented energy reduction targets
  • Long-lasting products = lower lifecycle CO₂
Responsible partnerships

Sustainability doesn't stop at the product — it applies to the entire supply chain. We choose partners who share our values on environment, working conditions, and accountability.

Wheat straw: a smarter alternative to plastic

A small but meaningful part of our range uses wheat straw — an agricultural by-product that would otherwise be burned or discarded. We turn it into durable, safe, and beautiful toys.

🌾

01 — Harvest

Wheat grain is harvested, leaving dry stalks behind

⚙️

02 — Process

Stalks are dried, ground into fine powder, and blended with a food-grade binder

🧪

03 — Test

Every batch tested to EN 71 and ASTM F963 child safety standards

🧸

04 — Play

Durable, safe toys that last through years of joyful play

What is wheat straw?

Wheat straw is the dry stalk left over after wheat grain is harvested. Traditionally burned in fields, it is now processed into a fine powder and blended with a food-grade binder to create a rigid, durable material — without mining new resources or producing virgin plastic.

Why wheat straw?

Agricultural by-product

Made from crop waste that would otherwise be burned — no new land or resources needed.

🌱

Lower carbon footprint

Produces significantly less CO₂ than conventional ABS or PP plastic during manufacturing.

💧

No harmful chemicals

Free from BPA, phthalates, and heavy metals. Tested to EN 71 and ASTM F963 child safety standards.

🎯

Durable & long-lasting

Comparable strength and durability to conventional plastic — designed to last through years of play.

🌾
